Three more cities from Punjab are included in the list of safe cities.


The business community provided Rs 6 billion in funding for Safe City.

LAHORE: Hundreds of surveillance cameras have been installed in Pakpattan, Kubora Sharif and Arifwara. Officials say 160 cameras have been installed at 50 locations in Pakpattan at a cost of $2 billion, with cameras also being installed in neighboring villages on the outskirts of Pakpattan.

The Safe City project was also launched in Kubra Sharif, where his 87 cameras were installed in 30 hotspots. Arafwala was included in the Safe City Network last year, with 128 cameras installed at 40 locations. Officials said the installation of the cameras was done by mapping street crimes and serious crimes. DPO Pakpattan Tariq Wilayat said Rs 6 billion has been collected from traders for Safe Cities and all cities are being directly monitored by cameras.
