Pakistan Cricket Board refuses to accept Ali Zafar's PSL anthem

KARACHI: World famous Pakistani singer Ali Zafar's manager has announced that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will first play the national anthem in PSL season 9. He claimed to have asked him to do so. He later contacted him and apologized. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) itself said it had contacted Ali Zafar and asked him to prepare the national anthem for PSL 9.

According to Ali Zafar's manager, Ali Zafar prepared the national anthem for two months and hired music producers and musicians at his own expense, after which he submitted three different versions of the PSL 9 national anthem to the PCB for final decision. He said he was working on it. These three verses when PCB told the singer that they could no longer work together on PSL 9 Anthem.

The manager added that the board is facing reservations from one of the PSL franchises and has therefore removed Ali Zafar from the Anthem project. The seasonal anthem that was very popular among the nation is also popular among fans this season. They wanted to hear the national anthem in the singer's voice. PSL 9 will begin on February 17 with the first match being played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. A total of 34 matches will be played in the T20 tournament, with the final to be held on March 18 in Karachi.
