India and France agree to jointly produce defense equipment.

 

ISLAMABAD: The agreement was reached on the occasion of French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to India, the Indian government said in a statement. During his visit, the French president met Indian President Narendra Modi and attended a state dinner hosted by President Draupadi Murmu.

According to the statement, President Macron and Prime Minister Modi agreed to jointly expand their bilateral relations in the use of artificial intelligence in public services such as defense production, nuclear energy, space exploration , climate change, health and agriculture.

However, no statement has been made so far on the cost of this joint agreement.

Leaders from both countries welcomed the partnership between French machinery maintenance, repair and cleaning processes and India's leading aeronautical propulsion company, Leap Engine for helicopters.

The summit was the fifth 40-hour meeting between the two leaders since their visit to Makar in May.

The Indian group Tata and the French Airbus have also signed an agreement to jointly manufacture civil helicopters, according to Vinay Kwatra, the Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs. President Macron also said that France would also take steps to invite 30,000 Indian students to attend higher education every year.
