The Lahore High Court has rejected the petitions filed by Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, Sanam Javed, Hammad Azhar and Pervez Elahi to dismiss the application, and has rejected the court's objections.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has disqualified prominent leaders of Pakistan's Tehreek-e-Insaf, including former Prime Minister Imran Khan, from contesting the elections. A three-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqer Najafi delivered the verdict and the Lahore High Court declared Imran Khan incompetent. PTI founder Imran Khan's objections to the nomination papers of NA 122 and NA 89 were upheld.

The court dismissed the former PTI chairman's petition seeking reinstatement of nomination papers for both constituencies. Additionally, the court declared Fawad Chaudhry, Hiba Fawad, Hammad Azhar and Parvez Elahi ineligible to vote, while the Lahore High Court responded to Sanam Javed's petition for refusal to run.

The court denied the motion to dismiss the application.

The High Court had dismissed PTI vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi's petition seeking cancellation of his candidacy, but the court upheld the court's decision. It is noteworthy that after the officer's reinstatement, the Court of Appeals also rejected the nomination papers of the PTI central leader and former foreign minister, making him ineligible to participate in elections thereafter. Multan Appellate Court Judge Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar has delivered an appellate verdict dismissing an appeal by RO Shah Mahmood against the rejection of PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi's nomination papers. Documents NA 150, 151 and PP 218, PP 219 were filed by Qureshi but were rejected by the court.
